Abstract

Ethyl glucuronide and ethyl sulphate are well-established
biomarkers for exposure to alcohol. As they are detectable
in human hair, they offer an opportunity to monitor alcohol
intake history without invasive sampling procedures.
Significant biological matrix effects are encountered when
analyzing human hair and there is a need for a very
specific and sensitive technique to detect and quantify
these biomarkers in a routine laboratory environment. The
maXis impact™ offers the first real capability to analyze for
such compounds at ultra low levels while taking advantage
of the power of accurate mass Mass Spectrometry.
