Abstract

Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight
mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) was chosen for an
in-detail analysis of poly(methyl methacrylate) in order
to determine the possible fragmentation mechanism
with the help of collision-induced dissociation. For every
parent peak the tandem MS spectrum revealed four
different fragmentation series, which could be explained
by fragmentation mechanisms already observed under
slightly different experimental conditions for PMMA.
