Abstract

Imaging drugs and their metabolites in tissue is accomplished
in a single experiment using high resolving power Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Mass Spectrometry. The identification of the respective compounds is achieved from the sub-ppm mass accuracy provided by the apex® ultra. The application of CASI (continuous accumulation of selected ions) allows for detection of very low abundant species without the need for MS/MS. Results from the automated imaging measurements are effectively displayed with Bruker’s flexImaging™ software. In addition, Bruker’s SmartFormula™ module provides a means of confidently determining molecular formula.
