• The challenge of simultaneously achieving selectivity (hrEIC-traces) and speed (up to 20Hz) can be readily met with ESI-UHR-Q-TOF technology.• The high resolutionandmassaccuracyLC-MS datasets allow for both targeted and untargeted analysis in metabolomics.

• Identification can be facilitated with SmartFormula3D and accurate MS/MS data
