Bruker Daltonics
Bruker

The flexImaging software is designed to acquire and analyze the spectra of tissue sections. This allows examining the spatial distribution of biomarkers within the tissue section.
The data acquisition can be performed with a Time Of Flight mass spectrometer of the Bruker FLEX series or with a Bruker FTMS instrument.

Workflow for flexImaging analysis

  • Take microscopic images of tissue slides mounted on conductive microscope slides.
  • Apply matrix to the tissue.
  • Insert microscope slide into Bruker Daltonics MTP Slide-Adapter.
  • Load image into the acquisition software and acquire spectra with the Bruker Daltonics mass spectrometers.
  • Analysis: visualize intensities of selected masses, mass ranges or groups of masses in the context of the distribution on the microscopic image. Determine the spatial distribution of molecular species such as peptides, proteins or small molecules.

MALDI Molecular Imager solution
The flexImaging software completes the MALDI Molecular Imager solution from Bruker consisting of ImagePrep™ automated matrix deposition device, a high performance MALDI-TOF/TOF system with smartbeam™ laser technology, and an electrically conductive glass slide assembly, delivering full integration from data acquisition to image analysis.

Enhance Biomarker Research by Combination of Cutting-Edge Technologies
The integration of easy-to-use ClinProTools and flexImaging bioinformatics solutions creates a powerful combination for peak profile classification and MALDI imaging in investigating the distributions of peptides and proteins in tissue samples, known as Class Imaging™ (Patent pending). It allows the classification of tissue types, such as mamma carcinoma, and determination of the class membership of comparable tissues/biopsies.
